The Town Clerk's Office maintains all official records and
certifications, serves as the local election authority and registrar for voters, issues licenses and permits,
and collects a range of fees, including for business licenses and permits and real estate transfer taxes.

Hinesburg's tax year runs July 1 - June 30. Property
tax payments are due in full on or before the 15th of November by
midnight in order to avoid interest charges.
Important: Only one tax
bill is mailed in early September to the owner of record as of April
1. Contact the Town Clerk's Office if you did not receive a tax bill
at the time of closing.
Dogs six months of age or older must be registered by April 1 of
each year by bringing the animal's latest rabies certificate and a spaying/neutering
certificate to the Town Clerk's Office. Three dollars from each license fee goes to
the State of Vermont for rabies control. The fees are:
| Up to April 1: |
$8 for neutered/spayed dogs
$12 for non-neutered/spayed dogs. |
| After April 1: |
$10 for neutered/spayed dogs
$16 for non-neutered/spayed dogs. |
