    Property Taxes
Hinesburg's tax year runs July 1 - June 30. Property tax payments are due in full on or before the 15th of November by midnight in order to avoid interest charges. Important: Only one tax bill is mailed in early September to the owner of record as of April 1. Contact the Town Clerk's Office if you did not receive a tax bill at the time of closing.

    Dog Registration
Dogs six months of age or older must be registered by April 1 of each year by bringing the animal's latest rabies certificate and a spaying/neutering certificate to the Town Clerk's Office. The fees are:

Up to April 1: $7 for neutered/spayed dogs
    $11 for non-neutered/spayed dogs.
     After April 1: $9 for neutered/spayed dogs
    $15 for non-neutered/spayed dogs.

Three dollars from each license fee goes to the State of Vermont for rabies control.

    Marriage / Civil Union Licenses

  • Applications for Vermont Licenses for Marriage and Civil Unions must be obtained from and submitted to the Town Clerk's office.
