Natural Resources Inventory
The Hinesburg Natural Resources Inventory (NRI) was to developed to help landowners and town commissions and boards better understand what important wildlife habitat, water resources, forest land, and other natural resources are in our town. These resources can be better protected when developers are able to access the map early in the development process. The products below (online Hinesburg Natural Resources Map Viewer and PDFs of natural resources created from the online map data) were compiled and prepared by the Hinesburg Conservation Commission, Hinesburg Planning and Zoning Department, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, and Native Geographic, LLC (NG) in 2019 and 2020 as part of a larger Phase-1 Natural Resources Inventory. Phase-2 of the NRI will begin in 2021, and will include more on-the-ground work to verify mapped resources.
