Police Officer – Hinesburg Community Police Department

The Hinesburg Community Police Department is accepting applications for an anticipated opening made possible through the COPS program. The Federal Office of Community Oriented Policing Services was created in 1994 to provide funding for training and technical assistance to advance community policing at all levels of law enforcement.

Officers possessing Vermont full–time certification will be compensated commensurate with their level of experience and are strongly encouraged to apply. Starting salary is $36,000 per year. The Town of Hinesburg offers an exceptional benefits package.

Administrative Assistant – Town Of Hinesburg Planning & Zoning

The Town of Hinesburg seeks a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Planning & Zoning Administrative Assistant. This is a part-time position of 16 - 19 hours per week.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of Planning & Zoning and the Zoning Administrator. This position is responsible for assisting applicants and the public, processing development applications, file management (digital and paper), scheduling meetings and hearings, coordinating distribution of correspondence and materials, and taking minutes at evening Development Review Board and Planning Commission meetings.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GRD. Successful candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with the public, and be able to work well both independently and in a team/office setting. Must be comfortable with the Microsoft Office software suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and have basic computer skills such as word processing, e-mail, file management.
