Fire Department & First Response

Overview:

The Hinesburg Fire Department, HFD, is a combination fire department comprised of 2 full time members and 30 paid on call members. These members are trained in fire, rescue and EMS disciplines, with certifications ranging from basic to advanced firefighter courses and first aid to paramedic EMS licensure. The department currently operates out of one station, utilizing three engines, one tanker and one first response medical unit. 

HFD is an all-hazards department, responding to fire, medical, HAZMAT and rescue calls for the Town of Hinesburg and the Town of St. George. HFD is an active participant in our regional mutual aid system, responding to assist other communities when requested. The department responds to an average of 450 calls for service annually. HFD holds a Vermont Non-Transport EMS License at the Advanced EMT level, allowing our members to respond to medical emergencies and render care at a high level.
