The mission of the Hinesburg Sustainable Economic Development Commission (HSEDC) is to develop a 5-year Strategic Economic Development Plan for adoption by the Selectboard; and help recruit, vet, promote, and aid Hinesburg business owners and developers to work amicably and efficiently with the Town and its local governing body.

The Commission shall have advisory responsibilities such as, but not limited to the following:

Advise Town of Hinesburg Staff, Selectboard, Commissions and Boards regarding work toward continuing infrastructure improvements to facilitate and encourage appropriate business investment;
Develop promotional materials for public education and promotion of Town of Hinesburg economic development goals and objectives;
Assist in the evaluation of taxation policies and methods;
Assist in the evaluation of proposed amendments to the Zoning and Sub-division Regulations;
Assist in the development of means to promote the Town regionally
Assist in the evaluation of existing land use policies as they related to strengthening the Town’s tax base.
