Attending the meeting: Lynn Gardner, John Guttler, Andrea Morgante, Jon Trefry, Kathleen Ramsay, Rocky Martin, Mike Anthony, Chris Morrell, Meadow Marmar, Deb Howard, Stuart Pierson.

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Meadow Marmar - New Full Time Community Police Officer

Chris introduced Meadow to the Board and spoke on why he would like the Town to hire her.

The Board members spoke with Meadow about her education and why she is seeking a position in Hinesburg.

John moved the Board vote to hire Meadow Marmar as outlined in letter to be offered to her by the Police Chief which includes a contract with Meadow outlining the Towns offer of employment and sending her to the academy in return for a 3 year commitment. Second by Jon and approved.

Chris wanted to recognize the efforts of Mike Anthony in assisting a rescue call on Burritt Rd. Mike plowed the road and drive so St. Mikes could get in to pick up the patient.

Chris informed the Board the trainer at the Police Academy has asked Chris to teach the drug dog program. Chris will be using vacation time to do this.

Michael Anthony, Road Foreman - Re: Replacement of One-Ton Dump Truck

Mike informed the Board after only 500 miles yet another transmission is needed on the Ford 1 ton. Jon moved the Board vote to authorize Mike and Rocky to negotiate a trade for the Ford 1 ton for a new standard 1 ton not to exceed $4,000. Second by John and approved.

The Board signed the grant applications for funding from the State Agency of Transportation for: Class II Highway Paving, Class II Highway Rehabilitation, Bridge and Culvert Program and Bridge Maintenance.

Other Business:

Approve Minutes/Meetings of February 7, 2000/ John moved that the Board vote to approve its January 24 and February 7, 2000 Meeting Minutes. Second by Andrea and approved with Andrea abstaining.

Interview with Candidate for Appointment to the Zoning Board - The Board met with Deb Howard. Deb informed the Board she has served on the Board of the Lewis Creek Association which has given her some insight as to how planning works in towns. She would like to serve her community in this manner. The Board advised Deb that a decision will not be made at this time and they will contact her when a decision is made.

Lyman Meadows - Rocky requested the Board hold an information meeting with the residents of Lyman Meadows on the water system. He is getting calls concerning the quality of the water.

The Board will hold a meeting Monday Feb 28.

 

Preparation for Town Meeting- The Board discussed projects they will speak about at the meeting.

Andrea had a call from Paul Wiezoreck regarding a grant. Jon moved the Board vote to authorize the Chair to sign the Tree Planting Grant Application from Trees for Local Communities. Second by Andrea and approved.

Heating Oil Assistance- there was a request for the Town to pay a portion ($100) of a residents bill, the Lions Club is paying a portion also. The Board agreed to the payment.

John reported that he met with Iroquois First Response and the division of assets is completed.

Andrea moved to adjourn at 8:35 p.m., second by John and approved.
