Review & Authorize Signature of Town Meeting Warning
The Board agreed on the wording of article 4 to be: Shall the Town authorize a total general fund expenditure for operating expenses of $1,628,233? The funds will come from four sources: $940,959 shall be raised by taxes; $337,165 from non-tax revenues; $250,109 from prior year surplus; and $100,000 from the Town’s fund balance.
Thompson/Retirement Party/Jon moved that the Board vote to approve Randy Thompson’s request for permission to hold a retirement party for his Father at the Fire Station to which participants will bring their own alcoholic beverages on Saturday, January 29, 2000, with the following conditions:
.Thompson shall designate a responsible person over 21 years of age to be "in charge" of the event and monitor alcohol use at the event to make sure there is no underage drinking and that intoxicated persons don’t drive; and
.a "don’t drink and drive" poster shall be posted at the entrance to the event naming the responsible person and offering the services of the responsible person to arrange safe trips home.
Motion second by Andrea and approved.
Rocky reports that Saputo is looking for potable water in addition to the increase in sewage capacity. Rocky stated he needs more time to check what the Town’s usage of water is currently running. A letter will be written to Saputo advising them the Town will be able to make a decision by the end of March.
Andrea reported Mike Bissonette contacted her regarding the CVU school board seeking ways to afford capital expenditures without bonding. Impact fees again were discussed as a means to help support CVU. The other 3 towns have agreed to contribute impact fees. As Hinesburg does not impose an impact fee this is not a possibility at this time. Andrea will ask Faith Ingulsrud to work up a fact sheet regarding collection of impact fees in Hinesburg.
Jon moved the Board vote to adjourn at 7:40 p.m., second by Andrea and approved.
Respectfully submitted,
Valerie Spadaccini,
secretary
