Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Other Business
Approve Warrants:
Andrea moved that the Board
vote to approve the warrants for bills payable
as presented by the Town Treasurer. Second by Jon and approved.
Trial Balance for Sewer & Water Fund and General
Fund for Period Ending 12/31/01: Jon
moved that the Board vote to acknowledge receipt of
the Trial Balance for the Sewer & Water
Fund and General Fund for the period ending
12/31/01. Second by Andrea and
approved.
Review of Year 2001 VTrans Bridge Inspection
Report: Jon moved that the Board vote to sign
the response form, acknowledging receipt and review
of the Year 2001 Bridge Inspection Report
from Vtrans.
Second by Andrea and approved.
Andrea suggested a letter be drafted to AOT asking to
include more data in the report such as yr
bridge was constructed. Also to inquire if they are working on new bridge designs to
avoid wash
off into the waterways.
Jon stated he would like to be sure suggested
maintenance is done which could extend the life of
the bridge.
Jeanne will send a memo to Rocky and Mike asking what they plan to do to
the
bridges this year.
Water Service Agreement / Fern Road Residents: Andrea
moved that the Board vote to sign
the water service agreement with the residents of
Fern Road (Richard Martin, Greg Coolidge and
Robert Dimke) for the extension of the municipal
water system to service these homes.
Second
by Jon and approved.
The Board discussed the fact that a new agreement
needs to be written.
Letter Recognizing Donation of Land and Easement by
Victor & Ramona Giroux and Bernard & June Giroux: In
1996 the Giroux=s donated an easement on
their property at Commerce Park (Grand List Lot Number 20-50-2.1) for the
construction of the sidewalk from the canal to the Post Office. The Giroux=s (with Town funding) had the value of this easement appraised at
$4,500. In addition, the Giroux=s have recently donated the triangular parcel located
between Mechanicsville Road and the canal (Grand List Lot Number 20-50-80) to
the Town. According to the Grand List,
the assessed value of this parcel is $1,300.
Victor Giroux has requested a letter, signed by the Selectboard,
acknowledging these donations and their values for tax purposes.
Jon moved
that the Board vote to sign the letters to Victor & Ramona Giroux and
Bernard & June Giroux
acknowledging donation of land and an easement, and their associated values.
Second by Andrea and approved.

Consumption of Alcohol at the Fire Station for a
Wedding Reception on May 11, 2002:
There will be a wedding reception for Randy Thompson=s nephew at the Fire Hall on May 11th from
11:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Jackie Steady (mother of the groom) is requesting permission to serve
alcoholic beverages at this event.
Andrea moved that the Board vote to approve the
request by Jackie Steady for permission to serve alcohol at a wedding reception
at the Hinesburg Fire Hall on May 11, 2002 fro 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the
following conditions:

responsible person over 21 years of age will be designated to be Ain charge@ of
the event and to monitor alcohol use at the event to ensure that there is no
underage drinking and that intoxicated persons do not drive; and

Drink and Drive@ poster shall be posted
at the entrance to the event, naming the responsible person and offering the
services of the responsible person to arrange safe trips home.
Second by Jon and approved.
Discussion of Warning for Town Meeting: The Board reviewed the warning with Jeanne and
she will make changes as suggested. The deadline for receipt of petitions
for articles to be
included on the warning is January 24th. Jeanne will finalize the warning and the
Board will come in individually to sign it.
Jon moved the Board vote to adjourn at 7:45 p.m.
