Hinesburg Village Steering Committee Meeting Minutes/draft

March 13, 2006

Attendees: Donna Constanineau, George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Dona Walker, Tracy Applin, Karla Munson

Absent: Brian Busier

A. The meeting came to order at 7 PM. Meeting minutes from the 2-13-2006 meeting were approved.

B. Updates and Reports:

1. Karla and Tracy working with Alex Weinhagen on the application for Designated Village Center. Going before the selectboard next week
2. Recent Village Forums and Town Meeting: this Wednesday meeting to focus on development up the Mechanicsville Road.
3. Discussion ensued regarding possible areas of communication with other town bodies. These include: perpetually affordable housing options, architectural design standards/guidelines for the village district, extent of Village Core area and direction of future development and creation of a historic inventory/tour for Hinesburg.
4. The VSC sponsored forum update should wait until until town forums are completed in the fall of 2006.
5. Discussion about skate board park location.

C. Master Plan for Village to be generated by the VSC: George able to start draft but no progress as yet. Complete draft by end of first year.

D. Other issues:

1. Establish Village priority list and present to selectboard and planning commission
2. April 11^th All-Board Meeting. VSC will present work/recommendations to date.
3. Discussion regarding the Park and Ride lot. Several members attended. Meeing inconclusive.
4. Karla reported on transportation possibilities. Use for medical purposes and possible coordination of ride services. Further discussion at April Meeting.
5. Notice of March 29^th Improvements project meeting sponsored by Planning Commission. Discussion to include NRG Project, Creekside Phase 2 and Jiffy Mart relocation.
6. George to speak with Jim Gelber, School Board Chair regarding Safe Routes to School program.

E. New Business:

1. Signs for Town Hall and Village Entry areas.
