Hinesburg Village Steering Committee Meeting Minutes

August 14, 2006

 

Attendees: George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Dona Walker, Tracy Applin, Karla Munson

Absent: Brian Busier, Donna Constanineau,

 

A. The meeting came to order at 7 PM. Meeting minutes from the 6-21-2006 meeting were approved.

 

B. Updates and Reports:

 

  1. Discussion ensued regarding recent planning commission issues and status of current projects within the Village area
  2. George Dameron to draft letter to Vtrans restating VSC position on Silver Street and Charlotte Road Projects and thanking Vtrans for recent communications and visit.
  3. Transportation survey discussed. 30 responses to date. Deadline extended. Survey still in process.
  4. Gateway signage in process.
  5. New Affordable Housing Committee formed. Donna Constantineau to resign from VSC and become member of this committee. First meeting during August.

 

C. Discussion:

 

  1. Architectural Design Standards discussed. Rolf to produce draft language for review at next VSC Meeting. Pending approval, this language to be forwarded to Planning Commission for possible inclusion in Zoning updates.
  2. Discussion regarding importance of Village landscaping.
  3. St. Michael’s College students to assist with housing inventory and historic district. Effective in Spring of 2007.
  4. VSC first Committee Report  to be produced by end of Fall 2006 and presented to Selectboard, PC and DRB.

 

D. New Business:

 

  1. Digital record of structures in Village.
  2. Status of skate park and website.

 

E. Agenda for 9-11-2006 Meeting to include: Minutes, design standards, committee report, students/inventory and transportation survey.
