Hinesburg Village Steering Committee
Meeting Minutes, October 9, 2006
Present: George Dameron, Karla Munson, Donna Constantineau,
Dona Walker, Tracy Applin, Brian Busier
Absent: Rolf Kielman
- Committee
expressed appreciation for Karla Munson’s service and work on the HVSC.
- Karla
gave final report on survey. Work to continue. Meeting with other agencies
interested in transportation issues. Funding is the main problem.
- Discussed
the Kinney Drug delivery program at Lantmans.
- Affordable
Housing: need for 30 units. Number currently available to be determined.
- Discussed
the HVSC recommendations to the town as developed during the course of the
year.
- There
is a need to continue to publicize the work and needs of the HVSC in the
Hinesburg Record. Maintain publicity on
a regular basis.
- Discussed
slowing traffic and the speed monitor to make drivers in the village awar
of speed limits and how fast they are driving.
- Discussed
Zoning Changes planned by the Planning Commission. Will talk about ideas
for the HVSC to give to the PC.
- HVSC
is currently waiting for more information on St. Michael’s College
Students to help put together the Architectural Historic Guide for
Hinesburg Village.
- Will
check with Peter Erb, Zoning Administrator about zoning rules for
appearances (aesthetics perhaps?)
- Vermont
State Agency of Transportation allowed us to use “Village Minor Arterial
Standards”.
- HVSC
to initiate discussion about future commercial/store needs with the
Planning Commission. Brian Busier will do this.
