Hinesburg Village Steering Committee
Meeting Minutes, November 13, 2006

- Minutes
of October 9, 2006 meeting approved
- George
Dameron to continue as HVSC Chairperson and Rolf Kielman to continue as
Secretary/Recorder.
- HVSC
has one vacancy that we are seeking to fill.
- George
noted that no record of the March HVSC Meeting Minutes are available. Rolf
to look into this.
- George
presented a comprehensive list of HVSC recommendations that have been
presented to the appropriate Town of Hinesburg Boards. (Selectboard and
Planning Commission)
- Work
by the Planning Commission on Zoning Revisions was discussed. The
commission is currently working on the Master Plan draft for the Village.
HVSC should review this draft and present relevant feedback.
- Discussion
also focused on the Design Guideline suggestions that Rolf has written. A
draft of these suggestions were distributed and discussed. Rolf to make
adjustments as suggested by the Committee as well as Alex Weingarten.
- Rolf
also expressed an interest in working on the development and location of a
Village Green and Bandstand for the Town.
- Notice
of Community visit on November 16th at CVU. Priorities to be
established at this meeting. Note that the outcome were four priorities ….
Multigenerational Center, Local Agricultural Products, Farmland
Conservation and Local Energy Production. Separate Task forces were
established to address these subjects. The HVSC will continue with it’s
focus as will the affordable housing and trails groups,
- Further
issues for discussion focused on the importance of a Town Entry point and
demarcation; pedestrian infrastructure, connected pathways and a link
between public and related open spaces.
- Next
meeting set for December 11, 2006 at 7 PM.
