Discussion of Affordable Housing Site Plan Workshop: Julie Pierson attended a workshop,
“Developing Site Plans for Affordable Housing”.
It was sponsored by the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board in
Discussion of Champlain Housing Trust Rehab Loans: Champlain Housing Trust (CHT) is promoting their Rehab Loan Program to fix up housing. The money is to be used only for essential home repairs such as structural framing, plumbing, wiring, etc, not cosmetic ones. (Note: For additional loan info go here: http://www.getahome.org/loans .)
Discussion of AHC Community Survey: All members of the AHC thanked Kellie Stoll for securing a $1000 grant from the Vermont Housing Awareness Campaign to be put towards a Hinesburg Affordable Housing Committee Community Survey. How to distribute the survey to the town’s 1800 households was discussed. It was decided there should be three ways to respond: via mail, e-mail, and dropping off the survey at the town hall. To entice people to return the survey we discussed having all returned surveys entered into a $50 drawing. No decision was made. The content of the survey was also discussed. Initial thinking has the survey include the following: a one page cover letter, one page of information, and a two page survey. Kellie volunteered to work on a sample survey for review at our next meeting.
Other business: A replacement for Lea Cassidy (AHC Secretary, who is looking to resign) was discussed. Bruce Wheeler expressed interest in the position. Rocky suggested Bruce e-mail Jeanne Wilson (Town Administrator) a letter of interest. Rocky also moved that Dale Wernhoff becomes the AHC Secretary in Lea’s absence. This motion was seconded by Carl and approved.
Next Meeting –
July 12th – Continue working on the Community Survey; no speaker is planned.
