MINUTES
March 12, 2007 (Monday, 7 pm,

- Members present:

- Minutes of February 12, 2007 approved
- Karla Munson welcomed back to committee
- Brief updates and reports:
- Transportation update (KM). Hinesburg will apply for a
United-We-Ride Grant
- Affordable housing discussion update
(DC). Discussions are on-going
with the Planning Commission regarding the addition of inclusionary
zoning into the new zoning regulations.
- Traffic control (30 mph new limit). The VSC welcomed the lowering of the
village speed limit to 30. Karla
Munson should take credit for this, and the committee thanked her.
- Planning Commission and the Village
Growth Project. A final document
may be forthcoming within the next few months.
- Village growth projects—GD (the chair)
reported on the current status of the
Thistle Hill and Green Street projects and about the new bank
planned for Commerce Street.
- Status of on-going village recommendations:
- architectural guide and historical
overview project (Saint Michael’s College student fall/spring). A student has been identified and has
come forward to do research on the village and its building for college
credit in the fall and the spring (2007-2008).
- monument re-location and cost. There is nothing to report at this
point.
- Signage for village. There is no movement on this
recommendation, so the VSC may try to push it forward.
- Photos of village. The town planner has digital
photographs of various buildings, taken recently by Anne Thomas.
- Program planning and committee budget. The committee has $500 to spend before
July 1.
- Village Master Plan (VSC and PC). GD (chair) intends to complete the VSC
portion of a village master plan draft in the spring.
- There were no announcements.
- There was no new business.
- The committee set the agenda for the next meeting (April
9, 2007)
