Meeting Minutes

January 8, 2009

Committee Members Present: Rocky Martin, Carl Bohlen, Julie Pierson, Kellie Stoll, Bruce Wheeler, Dale Wernhoff.

The meeting came to order at approximately 7:15 PM.

Meeting Date Revised: Tonight’s meeting was originally planned for January 7^th, 2009 but was revised due to scheduling conflicts.

New Committee Member: On January 5, 2009, the Select Board appointed George Bedard to the Hinesburg Affordable Housing Committee. We all welcome George and look forward to his input.

New Meeting Date: From today forward, barring any scheduling conflicts, the Hinesburg Affordable Housing Committee will meet on the first Wednesday of every month (we were meeting on the first Thursday). The meetings will still take place at 7:00 PM in the ground floor conference room.

Vermont State Housing Conference: Kellie was a panelist at the November 18, 2008 conference, sponsored by the Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) to discuss various housing issues. She said it was interesting to see how other towns are dealing with the same housing issues that Hinesburg is.

Hinesburg Mobile Home Parks: We discussed the current state of the three parks in Hinesburg. There are several zoning issues with the parks. We would like to have Peter Erb, the Hinesburg Zoning Administrator, attend one of our meetings to explain how he has been dealing with them.

David Carse Project: David, Rocky, and Alex Weinhagen, the Hinesburg Director of Planning and Zoning, will be meeting on January 15, 2009 with Amy Demetrowitz. She is the Director of Real Estate Development for the Champlain Housing Trust (CHT). They will be discussing ways to fund the project.

Former Saputo Site: We discussed the current state of the site, the towns new Saputo Redevelopment Steering Committee, and the potential for any affordable housing there.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30 PM.

Next Meeting - February 4^th – Itinerary not discussed.
