Selectboard Meeting

July 13, 2009

Present at the beginning of the meeting: Jon Trefry, Andrea Morgante, Ken Brown, Randy Volk, Howard Russell.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. 

Randy made a motion that the Board vote to authorize the Chair to sign the final Agreement to Arbitrate with Police Chief Chris Morrell on behalf of the Selectboard. Seconded by Andrea and approved.

Randy made a motion that the Board vote to sign the letter of Charges against Police Chief Chris Morrell required by 24 VSA § 1931 et seq. Seconded by Howard and approved.

Randy made a motion that the Board vote to sign a letter to the “Citizens of Hinesburg”, RE: Timeline and Status of the Selectboard’s Action Regarding Chris Morrell, and dated July 13, 2009.  Seconded by Howard and approved. There was a brief discussion about distribution of the letter (website, distributed to all staff, posted around Town and forwarded to the Burlington Free Press).

Howard moved that the Board vote to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel and legal matters, and invite Town Administrator Jeanne Wilson to join the meeting at this time and enter into executive session. Seconded by Andrea and approved.

Andrea moved that the Board vote to come out of executive session and adjourn. Seconded by Howard and approved. 

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
