Selectboard Meeting

August 24, 2009

Attending the meeting; Jon Trefry, Andrea Morgante, Ken Brown, Randy Volk, Howard Russell, Rocky Martin, Brad Aldrich, Jeanne Wilson.

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade Project / Award Construction Contract: Brad Aldrich of Forcier Aldrich & Associates presented a review of the low bid received from Kingsbury Companies, LLC at the public bid opening on August 20 for the wastewater treatment facility upgrade project.  A total of seven bids were received. Brad advised that, with acceptance of the construction bid, the total estimate for the project is reduced from $2.1 million to $1.554 million – approximately $775,000 from the federal government through ARRA funding, and $775,000 through the state revolving loan fund.  Ken moved that the Board vote to award the base bid for Contract No. 1 of the Hinesburg Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade Project to Kingsbury Companies, LLC of Waitsfield, Vermont for the contract amount of $1,130,100. Seconded by Howard and approved.

Howard moved that the Board vote to concur with the recommendation of Forcier Aldrich & Associates and accept the DBE solicitation of Kingsbury Companies, LLC. Seconded by Ken and approved.

Howard moved the Board vote to go into executive session including Jeanne Wilson for discussion of legal and personnel issues. Seconded by Andrea and approved.

Howard moved the Board vote to come out of executive session. Seconded by Andrea approved.

Randy moved that the Board vote to sign the August 24 addendum to the July 13 letter of Charges against Police Chief Chris Morrell. Seconded by Howard and approved.

Randy moved that the Board vote to adjourn at 7:55 pm. Seconded by Howard and approved.
