Meeting Minutes

December 14, 2009

Members Present:  Brian Busier, George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Aaron Kimball, Karla Munson, Jane Starkweather, Dona Walker

Guest:  Rob Bast of Bast & Rood Architects

1) November 2009 meeting minutes approved with minor update.

2) RB presentation re: site plan proposal fire/police/open space area at Route 116 and Farmall Drive. Possible co-location of fire and police facilities. RB shared sketch plan drawings along with ideas about how to incorporate the current police station building into the plan. Discussion of layout, use, and function of the open space at this site. Is adjacent field a proper space for a town green? Would this space function as a "town center"? What would be a best use for the open space? Maybe: farmer's market, winter ice rink, town performance area with a bandstand.

3) Status of the Guide to the history and buildings of the Hinesburg Village area. Walking tour ready to go. Draft is complete. Walk-thru needs to be completed. Pursuing Village Historic Designation with the state was briefly discussed.

4) CCTA update. There will be two articles on the ballot for town meeting in March. One to ask voters if they would like to join CCTA, and the other to secure funding. Info meeting is scheduled for February 3, 2010.

5) Saputo site. No new news.
