A prospective purchaser of the project has decided to remain in their current location. Another purchaser remains a possibility. Discussions with the realtor are on-going.
Further discussions may be had with other small agricultural processors and the Saputo Steering Committee will continue to advance the name of prospective purchasers and tenants to the real estate agency. It was stated that the property may be more attractive with the building removed.
Federal monies are available for infrastructure improvements and other green enhancements.
Schubart and Patten to meet with the Hinesburg Selectboard on January 18, 2010 to report on progress.
The committee was reminded of our initial charge, namely to restore jobs and a viable tax base. This could however be a long term endeavor that is focused on the goal of creating a well considered center or downtown for the Village of Hinesburg.
Further discussion focused on a variety of issues regarding process and use of the site.
Meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM. Next meeting not determined
