Meeting Minutes

January 11, 2010

Present: Brian Busier, George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Aaron Kimball, Karla Munson, Jane Starkweather, Dona Walker

1. December 2009 approved.

2. A draft version of the Walking Tour of the Village is ready. RK may be able to recruit professional graphics help. Historic Designation for the village was also discussed in conjunction with the walking tour project.

3. Town clock. KM and RK to attend the Lions Club meeting this week to present clock ideas (drawings).

4. Saputo update. Last silo was removed recently. For sale sign has appeared for the first time. No single buyer is currently looking at the site. The Saputo Redevelopment Steering Committee is continuing to look at all options for the site and has recently updated the Select Board.

5. Other business. AK read from recent selectboard minutes, re: sidewalk construction from Hart and Mead to Lyman Meadows with a crosswalk at Hinesburg Community School, and VTrans traffic congestion studies. Sidewalk construction dependent upon town budget funding.

6. Existing sidewalk winter walkability discussed. GD to speak with Jeanne Wilson about the state of sidewalk snow removal in the village. What is policy for snow removal? What is the timeframe for removal? How much snow must accumulate before the sidewalks are plowed?

7. Town planner Alex Weinhagen asked for the Village Steering Committee's feedback on the Lyman-Milot project (aka Kinney Drugs). As a group we reviewed site plans and discussed the proposal. A letter with our praises and concerns was drafted and sent to Alex, the Select Board, and the Development Review Board. See letter below.
