Meeting Minutes

September 13, 2010

VSC Members Present: George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Aaron Kimball, Dona Walker

VSC Members Absent: Karla Munson, Brian Busier, Jane Starkweather

1. Minutes approved from May and July meetings

2. Village Sign. Wood and Wood revised their proposal to now reflect two signs to be built. They will require a fifty percent deposit to begin work. Jeanne will mail a check. Discussion of sign placement and upkeep.

3. Committee Membership. Three members are up for renewal. Two will renew, one will not. RK has approached a community member about the opening. Discussion about leadership roles will be taken up at the next meeting.

4. Priority Items for the coming year. Sidewalks. Management plan for the canal. Lot 1 development. Town Green/Greenspace. Village Gateway Viewsheds. Pedestrian space and circulation master plan.

5. Saputo Recommendations and Dameron letter. VSC will continue to follow developments related to this site and do our best to encourage uses that are would be best suited for the town. George sent a personal letter on his behalf encouraging this.

6. Other Items. GD updated VSC as to the status of the catch basin at Route 116 and Charlotte Road. Also a brief discussion about the process someone needs to (or doesn't need to) go through to make changes in areas that affect the town's viewsheds.
