Meeting Minutes

October 11, 2010

VSC Members Present: George Dameron, Rolf Kielman, Aaron Kimball, Jane Starkweather, Dona Walker

VSC Members Absent: Brian Busier

1) Minutes approved from Sept meeting

2) Wood and Wood proposal. Reviewed final proposal for "Hinesburg Village founded 1792" signs. RK will contact them tomorrow with a go ahead.

3) Priorities Agenda - Brainstorming Session. Discussion generated several items. The list includes: continuing to advocate for the completion of sidewalks, draft a management plan for the canal area along Mechanicsville Road, provide a vision for the creation of town green spaces, ensure that development plans for proper pedestrian circulation within the village, and to promote town discussion about village gateways and town view sheds.

4) Saputo development. Continued discussion about best use for the site. Nothing new to report.

5) Au Revoir Karla. Thank you Karla for your many years of service to this committee. Last month was Karla's last as a VSC member. While on the VSC she was instrumental in securing CCTA bus service to Hinesburg. As a founding member of Hinesburg Rides she helped to provide ride share and carpooling services and assistance to commuters in Hinesburg and surrounding communities. We would also like to thank her for her work in applying for, and receiving a Village District Designation for the the Village.

She will always be remembered by this committee for her strong steady voice, thoughtful insight, and proof reading skills :-)
