Town Forest Committee
Meeting Minutes
January 4, 2012
Opening: Steve Russell called the meeting of the Town Forest Committee to order at 6:31 on January 4, in the Town Hall.
Present: Brent Francis, Pat Mainer, Stewart Pierson, Steve Russell, Chuck Reiss, Brooke Scatchard (6:36)
Absent: Jason Reed, Wayne Bissonette
Guests: Andrea Reagan, Keith Thompson, Jim Collins
Approval of minutes of December 21: Stewart moved to approve the minutes of December 21. Pat seconded. The minutes were unanimously approved.
Update on the funds available to the Forest Committee in the proposed Town budget: Steve talked with Rocky. The budget was reviewed on December 19. In it there is $2000 for parking lot improvements at Hayden Hill East and Hayden Hill West and $4200 for signs and posts at all three trailheads. Rocky said he didn't know how it would be displayed in the Town Report. $4200 will be in capital improvements and $2000 in the public works budget. Chuck suggested that info be included in the little report section. Keith said there may be a very little bit of income from more salvage.
Work on the Hinesburg Town Forest Management Plan: Those present discussed, revised and edited the Water and Wetlands section of the management plan.
Other Business: No other business was discussed.
Next Meeting: The next regular meeting is Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30. The next special meeting is Wednesday, January 18 at 6:00.
Adjournment: Chuck moved to adjourn. Stewart seconded. The motion was unanimously approved. The meeting adjourned at 9:00.
