The Vermont Council On Rural Development visited with Hinesburg residents in the fall of 2006 to discuss ideas, challenges and opportunities for our community. Community Visits on October 10th and November 16 were well-attended, and allowed the community to prioritize "action areas" of interest.

As part of the action plan, four task force committees were formed:

Hinesburg Sustainability and Energy Planning
Multigenerational Community Center and Teen Center
Buy Local Campaign and Specialty Farming
Hinesburg Farm and Forest Conservation

Committee volunteers are welcome and needed! Please consider participating; the ultimate success of the Community Visit Program will be measured by what we are able to do to improve our community, and the more of us involved, the higher the success will be.
